The outer yarn is made from cotton harvested at a cotton farm called Ucak in the Izmir region of Turkey. At Ucak, we manage everything from the farm to the spinning, so we can trace our products back to the farm and comply with various international organic standards (GOTS/OCS) and recycling standards (GRS). Cotton cultivation has become a problem due to the depletion of groundwater, but in Ucak, cotton is grown using water from a river that flows near the farm, making careful use of water resources without destroying the natural environment. Each piece is dyed indigo by hand, allowing you to fully enjoy the deep color of indigo and how it changes over time.
