- This is a special collection created to commemorate the JAPAN DORAKU event.
JAPAN DORAKU is a project that was launched with the theme of "Creating a bright future through the circulation of people and money" and is centered around the preservation of Japanese traditions and culture, with social activities as its primary focus.
Seilin & Co. also resonated with this project and created a special collection under its own original brand.
【design】
These work trousers are made with luxurious honnai indigo dyed Selvedge denim, created using yarn dyed using a technique called natural lye fermentation indigo dyeing.
【Material】
The raw material used is Zimbabwe cotton, a type of extra-long staple cotton that is mainly used in jeans and is considered to be the finest cotton variety.
The yarn is hand-picked without the use of chemical fertilizers or machines, which allows for a supple, white, soft, high-quality yarn with a natural uneven texture.
The warp threads are made from Zimbabwe cotton and dyed using a natural lye-fermented honnai dyeing method. The indigo used is "Shirabana Kojoko," a type of indigo that won the top-class title of "Zuiichi" at the Indigo Market, a competition held during the Edo period to showcase the indigo used in dyeing.
We are particular about Material we use to ensure that our products are 100% natural. Indigo dyeing is born from the bounty of nature, and in order to bring out the natural power of Material, we use only limited Material such as sukumo, lye, slaked lime, sake, and wheat gluten, and we carry out all processes using traditional methods.
This luxurious and special denim fabric is made from indigo-dyed yarn that has been dyed over a long period of time using a traditional process, and is woven slowly and without strain on an old-fashioned power loom.
[detail and Silhouette]
The motif is old work pants. The single pleat gives a moderate volume around the waist. The silhouette is thick and work pants-like, and the hem tapers gently, giving it a refined tapered despite its thickness. As many detail as possible have been removed to highlight the quality of the silhouette and Material.
